Ox Bow Elementary
FAQ’s
Q. What are the procedures for entering the school as a visitor during the day?
A. You may enter the building at the main entrance. Please sign in using the sign-in sheet located in the office. You will sign your name, classroom visiting or purpose for visit and the date/time of arrival. A sheet of “Ox Bow Visitor” stickers is on the desk next to the sign-in sheet. Please wear one of these stickers during your stay. When you are ready to leave, simply indicate the time of your departure.
Q. How do I deposit money into my child’s lunch account?
A. You can send in any denomination of money at any time. You can send it in an envelope to your child’s teacher via the daily assignment notebook provided by the school. This notebook will be sent back and forth each day between the teacher and parents. Mark clearly on the envelope the child’s name and indicate that it is “lunch money”. The money will be deposited into the account and a receipt will be sent home for your records. When your child’s account is running low, a reminder will be sent home so that you may update the account in a timely manner.
Q. Can parents have a lunch account?
A. Yes. You can establish an account for yourself if you plan on eating with your child periodically. You provide the office with your phone number to set up the account and deposit money separately from your child’s account. When you go through the lunch line with your child the money will be taken out of each individual account accordingly.
Q. What are the procedures to eat lunch with my child?
A. Please let the office know at least by 10:30am the day that you plan to eat with your child. This is to be able to inform the cafeteria so that they can make appropriate arrangements. You can go through the lunch line with your child and sit at the tables in the back of the cafeteria together. Your child will also get to choose a friend to join him/her if he/she desires. Please do not bring in fast food as this is against cafeteria regulations. Thank you for your cooperation.
